Kejriwal, Mann launched AAP LS election campaign in Delhi

AAP convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal along with his Punjab counterpart Bhagwant Mann launched their Lok Sabha election campaign here on Friday with the slogan ‘Sansad mein bhi Kejriwal, Dilli hogi aur khush haal’.

General elections are held in April-May.

The campaign was launched in the presence of other party leaders and workers from the Aam Aadmi Party headquarters at DDU Marg.

“I have made every effort to serve the people of Delhi who are my family,” Kejriwal said.

“Our slogan is ‘Sansad mein bhi Kejriwal, Dilli hogi aur khush haal’ (Delhi will prosper more with Kejriwal in Parliament),” he said.

Delhi and Punjab are ruled by AAP and these are the only two states which have free electricity supply, he said.

Kejriwal said the BJP-led central government through the Delhi governor was stopping every project started by the AAP government and urged people to “strengthen” it by sending all seven opposition candidates to Parliament.

“They hate you because you elected and brought a common man to power in Delhi. They bulldozed Mohalla clinics, stopped door-to-door food delivery system, tests and medicines in hospitals,” he claimed.

AAP workers will distribute leaflets describing the work done by party governments during the election campaign, he said.

Punjab Chief Minister Mann said that his state will have a 13-0 result in favor of AAP in the Lok Sabha polls. He also accused the Center of obstructing the work of the Kejriwal government in Delhi and withholding funds from Punjab.

“No one will dare to stop the funds of Punjab and the work of Delhi if AAP has sufficient number of MPs in Lok Sabha,” he said.

AAP will fight the general elections in collaboration with INDIA’s bloc partner Congress as part of a seat-sharing deal with it in Delhi, Gujarat and Haryana.

However, in Punjab, both parties decided to fight the Lok Sabha polls independently.

AAP will contest four of the seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi and the Congress will field its candidates for the remaining three.

The party also won two constituencies – Bharuch, Jamnagar – in Gujarat and Kurukshetra in Haryana in a seat-sharing deal with the Congress.

Separately, AAP has also declared its candidates from Guwahati, Dibrugarh and Sonitpur Lok Sabha constituencies in Assam.
